Two-factor, or multifactor, authentication can add a second later of security verification when logging in to your online or mobile banking accounts and other products and services that contain personal and sensitive information. Phishing is one of the most common methods that bad actors and thieves use to gain access to personal and financial information. The kind of scam involves tricking the recipient into giving up or revealing information that is then used by the bad actor to perpetrate fraud and/or identity theft.
Phishing scams can take different forms, but most commonly they are in email or text. Clicking on the link(s), downloading attachments, etc. can release malware to your device and/or capture your keystrokes and clicks.
