The CIO Circle interviews Bank3’s Monica Parks
Monica Parks, our chief information officer, was recently interviewed by The CIO Circle in a compelling conversation about the state of technology and information today and the future. She also shared insight about her path to her current position, how the role of tech leaders will evolve, advice for aspiring tech leaders and much more.
Prior to her journey at Bank3, Monica started her career in the early 2000s as a paralegal, and she eventually transitioned to finance where she discovered her passion for identifying fraud. She used her technical skills and investigative mindset to develop strategies to prevent fraud and reduce risk, which led her to a seven-year tenure at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Monica joined Bank3 as assistant vice president of IT and was later promoted to CIO, a milestone she is incredibly grateful for.
As a tech leader, Monica believes it crucial to stay connected with the teams that make success possible. Over the next five years, she anticipates that CIOs will face pressure with evolving AI, regulatory expectations and fast-paced technology changes. She believes it’s essential for leaders to maintain engagement within their teams and foster those connections. For those aspiring to tech leadership roles, Monica advises seeking out mentors and being unafraid to reach out to people you admire. Read more about what Monica had to say in The CIO Circle here.
